Iran is a vast country. Its geography is home to many wonderful phenomena. You might think that Iran is only a huge desert. But it’s not. In fact, on the map of Iran, you can easily see that she has two seas: one in the north, and one in the south. Iran beaches and shores span for 5800 km in total. In this article, we are going to take a look at these beautiful spots in the south of Iran and all the surprising beauty they contain.
You’ll easily see the Persian Gulf on the map of Iran. It’s connected to the Oman Sea, where there is a way to the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. Many cities and towns in the south of Iran are close to the sea, with beautiful beaches. These range from Khoram Shahr out in the southwest to Chabahar’s amazing beach in the southeast. Boushehr, Bandar Lengeh, Bandar Abbas, Minab, and Jask are in the middle.
South of Iran is very hot, and it’s also very humid. The people are mostly workers of the sea: from fishermen to people who trade by the sea. They are famous for being kind, hospitable, warm, and friendly. In many cities down in the south, they live through the night because days are very hot. They have great food, mostly spicy.
Bandar Lengeh is a harbor city in Hormozgan and one of the most important cities in the south. You can go to Kish by boat from Bandar Lengeh.
Kish Island is one of the islands of the Persian Gulf and is a part of Bandar Lengeh city in Hormozgan province. In the past, it was called Qays. The island resembles an ellipse. It is located 12 kilometers off the Shibkuh coast. On average, more than 1 million tourists visit the island annually.
Marjan Beach (Coral Beach) is a popular part of Kish and a great one among Iran beaches. Watching the sunrise here is unforgettable. There are scattered alcoves on the beach, as well as the Kish Cycling Track. There is also a seaside entertainment center for visitors to enjoy on the beach. You can find jet ski, banana, shuttle, and parasell diving. There is also a small boardwalk on the beach that guides you through the beautiful waters and coral beaches.
One of the Iran beaches in Kish is the Greek Ship Beach. There is a ship lying on this beach, old and full of untold stories. It came to Kish almost 55 years ago. 23 years earlier than that, The William Hamilton Company made the ship in Glasgow. It weighed 7061 tones and its length was 136 meters. Over the course of years, it had many English and Iranian owners. The last owner, however, was a Greek person. That’s why they call it the Greek Ship.
Nobody knows why this ship ended like that. There were rumors of piracy and conflict in the sea. There are also theories about how Lloyds company wanted to get insurance money and tried to sink the ship. Whatever the truth, the ship remains a tourist attraction for hundreds today.
Another wonderful Iran beaches is Mirmohana. Mirmohana Beach Park is the largest beach park of Kish located on Darya Boulevard. Darya Boulevard is one of the major boulevards in Kish. It is a relatively busy route. Most of the restaurants, cafes, shopping malls, markets, hotels, and guesthouses of the island are on this boulevard. For this reason, tourists and travelers do not have to travel a great distance from hotels and shopping centers to the beach.
Mirmohana Beach Park is near the Arab neighborhood, which is home to the natives of Kish Island. You can enjoy the modern recreational activities of Kish as well as the traditional texture and life of the locals. There are a variety of animal species living in Mirmohana Beach Park. You can see all kinds of birds, such as herons and storks, flying in the sky and over the surface of the water.
On the beach, you can also see corals, mussels, eels, snails, and strange and beautiful rocks that are brought to the beach by roaring waves. A large number of Persian Gulf turtles live on this beach, which is especially exciting and spectacular for children.
There is a special fishing pier at Mirmohana Beach Park that allows tourists and islanders interested in hunting and fishing to catch fish at certain times of the day. For those who are not, there is a fish market where tourists can buy fresh fish. Plus, there are markets for souvenirs, handicrafts, clothing, food, and a variety of other goods that cater to visitors’ need to travel long distances to shop. There is also a convenient cycling location for those who are interested in enjoying the sport while visiting the beach and the sea.
The fisherman beach is on the east coast of Kish. The Fisherman Statue holds the record of the country’s largest figurine statue with 12 meters of height. There are two waterfalls located on both the eastern and western sides of the beach, and the two fountains are connected by a 100-meter-long water stream.
Iran beaches are full of amazing trees. Another Iran beach on the east side of Kish is the coconut beach. This place is home to numerous coconut trees. It also has one of the most beautiful sunsets in Kish. Damoun is in the north of Kish. It is near Damoun Market, where you can find almost anything you need. Damoun is among the popular markets for tourists in Kish. There are very nice hotels here. The reason why these hotels are very popular is, aside from great services, the great view they offer in their rooms.
Damoun is on the north of Kish, and very popular among Iran beaches. It is near Damoun Market, where you can find almost anything you need. Damoun is among the popular markets for tourists in Kish. There are very nice hotels here. These hotels also provide great views in their rooms.
Kolbeh Hoor is a rocky outcrop in the western part of Kish Island, and a wonder among Iran beaches. Any Kish travel guide would offer Kolbeh Hoor to you. The abundance of fish, mussels, and turtles in the area has led many tourists to fish in this part of Kish Island. The area is also of particular interest to diving enthusiasts.
There is a small cave here, only 5 meters in length, in the south of the beach. It will be very enjoyable to pass through when the tide is full. At Kolbeh Hoor, one of the most spectacular phenomena is the saline water that is lifted from the bottom of the earth by the force of the wind. Then, it is made sweet and usable by solar energy. Plus, in this solar water heater complex in Kish, there are various types of solar ovens that tourists can use. The wild nature of this area is another attraction. It is very exciting to see large waves hitting rocky cliffs, especially in this outcrop where water flows through the gaps and erupts up.
Simorgh Beach is another one of Kish Island’s beach parks. It is in the southeastern part of Kish Island, along the coast, next to Marina Park Hotel, Simorgh Hotel, and Kish Dolphinarium Complex.
Simorgh Seaside Park is between Jahan Road and Cycling Road. Its approximate area is 15,000 square meters, and it spans for 300 meters along a phenomenally beautiful sandy beach. Simorgh Beach also has a playground for children. You can find table tennis, skating rinks, hiking trails, fountains, toilets, and a cycling station here. One of the spots that attract many tourists is the statue of Simorgh, which has given the park a special beauty. This white statue is near the Persian Gulf.
Ladies’ Beach on Kish Island has to be top of the list for any female reader about Iran beaches. Here women are free to enter the water, which isn’t always possible with other beaches in the country. This coastal site provides an interesting insight into beach life in Iran. With clear water, women can enjoy going into the sea while they discover the vibrant coral reefs. Lines of sunbathers can be seen relaxing and you can have a massage on the beach. Be aware that you are not allowed to take pictures here and you may be asked to hand in your phone upon entry. Also. It should be mentioned that you can either find ladies’ beaches in the north of Iran in different cities and beaches.
There are many ways to get to Kish. The comfortable and easiest way is taking a flight to Kish Island from all the airports all around the country. But it is not the just and last way, you can go to Aftab port or Lengeh port by your own car and then by passenger ship or ferry go to Kish Island.
Kish is a tourist spot, filled with many tourist accommodations. These include small guesthouses to grand hotels. There is no lack of facilities whatsoever, but for the sake of safety and security, it’s better to stay in hotels. Some of the great hotels are Toranj, Dariush Grand Hotel, Marina, Sorinet Sadaf, and Flamingo.
Hendurabi Island lies between the two islands Kish and Lavan. The island is 23 km away from Kish and 325 km away from Bandar Abbas. You can also go to Hondurabi from Port Lengeh. The port is 133 km away from Hondurabi.
Legend has it that there used to be two lovers named Hend and Rabi living on this island. That is the reason why they call it Hendourabi. While many think that nobody lives on this island, it has almost 200 inhabitants who are mostly fishermen. It has a school, a health clinic, and a police station.
There are very few tall cliffs on Hendourabi. So if you want to dive into the water, you need to go to the west of this island. The highest point is 43 meters from the ground. You can also swim if you want, but you need to choose the northern parts for this. There, the water’s depth is 5 to 8 meters. There are also lots of starfish here. In the eastern and southern parts, the water’s depth is 8 to 18 meters. So you can’t swim safely, but many people choose the southern parts to camp. It’s more beautiful.
Qeshm is one of the Iranian islands in the Strait of Hormuz. It is separated from the mainland by Khuran in the Persian Gulf. Qeshm has wonderful weather conditions. If you’re there in winter, you’ll see how amazingly beautiful it is. Qeshm is also the largest island in Iran that offers you the most beautiful Iran beaches.
Qeshm Island is a few kilometers away from the southern coast of Iran. The island’s free zone area is 300 square kilometers. The average temperature here, which is very attractive to many tourists, is approximately 27 °C. The warmest months in Qeshm are June through August, and if you don’t like hot and humid weather, you’d better not be here at this time. The main attraction of the beach is its beautiful seaside view, which makes campers camp here almost every night of the year. They enjoy the night, with the sound of the sea, and its cool breeze in the morning. The sunset and sunrise are truly spectacular here.
You can find futsal, basketball, beach volleyball, skateboarding, and cycling in Olive Beach. The restaurants and diners offer the most delicious local and seafood dishes. Coffee shops and cafés are also here to offer great drinks and desserts. Live and indigenous music is played in Qeshm’s Olive Park amidst the palm trees, which provides a lovely atmosphere. Although Qeshm has many beach parks, the proximity of Olive Beach to the city center, its lively nights and amenities make it one of Qeshm’s most popular spots. If you are planning a trip to Qeshm, you can visit the shopping centers where you can find almost everything.
The Naaz Islands are different from all the beaches you’ve ever seen. Here, in the tide, a beam of glistening sand connects three rocks that rise out of the water to Qeshm. The islands are called DoGardeh by locals and are listed on the map of Iran as Naaz Islands. Tourists know them by the same name. Although Naaz Islands are accessible for a short time, travelers can enjoy being there and watching Lark Island. It is interesting to note that Naaz Islands are part of Qeshm World Geopark and one of the seven wonders of the island. According to many experts, the area has long been a place for fishermen to rest. There are no shops or amenities on the islands themselves, except for the vendors. But near the parking lot, there are basic amenities for the visitors.
Naaz Island amenities include seaside walks, Afro riding on the islands, horse and camel rental, and aerial recreation over the islands. All water sports including swimming, scuba diving, and jet skiing can also be done here. You have to cross the Star Valley to reach the islands.
Hormoz Island Beach is 16 km from Bandar Abbas. Because of its strategic position, people call it the key to the Persian Gulf. Attractions include the Portuguese castle, salt goddess, rainbow valley, statue valley, snow mountain, salt cave, red soil mine, silver beach, and the sandy beach. The red beach is made up of red soil and known as one of the most important Iran beaches. This soil used to be exported until people’s protest led to its halt. The soil is edible because most of it is a type of spice. Local people call it “Gelak”. You can swim in Hormoz, and the best time to go there is the second half of winter and the entire spring. Mornings and afternoons are great to be on the beach. You can go there through Qeshm and Bandar Abbas.
Hengam Island is also famous as Silver Island. Qeshm travel guide always suggests Hengam as one of the great Iran beaches, because of the picturesque view it offers you. During your journey to this Island, you see dolphins that swim around your boat, and the seagulls which expand this view. There are two ways to go there: either from Qeshm, which is 2 km away or from Bandar Abbas. If you go from Bandar Abbas, you should take a boat from Zakeri Port and another boat from there to Kandelou, and finally, to Hengam Island.
Turtle Island Beach is another wonder in Qeshm. Many kinds of turtles walk slowly around the beach. You can see the lovely play between them and the sea. One of the famous turtles of the beach is Eretmochelys Imbricate. You can find them from mid-March to the end of June.
Also, it should be mentioned that turtles oviposit on this beach at nights and if anybody bothers them they will leave the beach and choose another beach.
There are flights from all airports in Iran to Qeshm. If you don’t want to go by plane, you can go to Bandar Abbas (either by car or train). From Bandar Abbas, there are boats that take you to Haghani Port. Then, you can take a boat to Zakeri Port of Qeshm.
Because it is a tourist island, it has various facilities and accommodations. But for the sake of health and safety, it is better to stay in a hotel. Two good hotels are Eram Hotel and Irman Boutique Hotel.
